You must PUSH OFF FIRMLY TO START - this means push off until you are rolling at 3km/hr or faster and now the 'go' lever by your right thumb will activate. Ensure your scooter is not on pause and that your ride is running - indicated by the app notification and the fact that the scooters lights will be on.
The 'end ride' button is a slider - as long as you are within a parking hub you may end your ride by sliding this button to the right. We are here to help though - call on 0401474992 for help ending your ride. Remember; you can only end your ride at an Oggy hub - If we have to come and collect an abandoned oggy, or if you stay out and do not return to a hub by closing time at 6.30pm, we will charge you a $100 pick up fee.
The Queensland State Government recently reduced the speed limit for e-scooters to 12km/hr on footpaths and we must comply with that. You can only ride on road bike lanes if it is signposted as 50km/hr or lower, and you can ride on a local street if it is 50km/hr or lower with no centre line. See below for the full explanation.
Immediately check the map - are you within the service area? If not, return. Did you enter a 'red zone'? If yes, leave it. Have you been doubling? You may have overheated the ECU. Walk the scooter back to a parking hub. Unsure why the scooter has stopped? Call us on 0401474992 and we'll reset your scooter over the phone - this solves most issues.
You may activate up to four scooters at a time - meaning you can take friends or family along for the ride. They have to be 12 or older and you may NOT double - it's illegal and dangerous. You must accompany younger riders at all times.
Download our app (only if 21+) via Google play or the Appstore to get started. You can then locate our fleet on the map. Zoom in on the parking pin to see how many oggys are available. Tap a scooter icon to check its battery level.
Scooters show as 'out of service' for several reasons;
If you have specific needs for a number of scooters, just call us on 0401474992 and we can often help direct you or offer advice so that you can get what you need.
You can start the oggy up for $1 (non-refundable) and then 30c per minute thereafter. If you want to pause your ride, then you will be charged the reduced rate of 7c per minute. It is your responsibility to ensure you have paused your ride - no refunds will be offered if you do not do so. If you prefer not to watch the clock, great! Go to the 'promos' page on the app for the day rate of $55, where you have exclusive use of your oggy for the whole day. We will run promos for special ride deals so keep an eye out for these on the app.
No riders under 12 and no unaccompanied minors (less than 21). Please do not leave the service area marked by the green line - your scooter will throttle off and you will have to walk it back into the service area. Helmets are compulsory. Strictly one rider per scooter. Riding through sand or mud may incur a $50 cleaning fee per scooter. Keep both hands on the handlebars, be aware of your surroundings, be considerate of others on the path, which means keep left, use your bell and give way to pedestrians always, and have your scooter back to a parking hub by sunset or it will turn into a pumpkin!
The current government rules regarding where you can ride and what speeds you can travel at are as follows;
When you ride a personal mobility device, you must always:
